Clearly not the VATS.
I guess I'd suggest you go back to the basics and start checking everything. Pull each plug and look them over well. Measure compression while the plugs are out. Check that each plug wire makes a spark when the engine is turned over. Make sure there are no restrictions in the intake system. Borrowmormrent a mood light and confirm the injectors are working. Gather as much data as possible and post it up...we'll all try to help....

The pressure should drop when engine vacuum is present, typically to 32-35 psi.
One thought, and Shoebox covers it in his write up.... if the PCM does not receive the fuel enable signal from the BCM the engine may start, but will stop after a few seconds when the prime fuel is gone. But as Rob points out you would have code P1626.
