Re: new TB NEED SOME HELP!!
yeh the cables are fine i got them setup right, i just checked all the harnesses on top of the water pump, everyone of them I could get access to.. and not much if any coolant came out at all and I had rags around it so I dont think it spilled onto the OPti, it turns over, revs up to like 4000rpms making this whining sound then shuts off???

im not sure and im no where near to be a mecanic but on my 91z back in the day i had to adjust the cable that goes into the accelerator in the TB maybe thats not adjusted and the buttlerflies are semi closed when u turn it on causing a whining noise from the little space in there and shutting of because of too little air comiming , im not sure but u could check it.

Hey did you ever figure out where you had gone wrong? I was thinking of replacing my tb some day soon. I'm in South Jersey, where are you in NJ? Maybe I can give ya a hand. I hate when things are supposed to be simple and they always go wrong.lol

Re: new TB NEED SOME HELP!!
Is the SES light on? Have you scanned it for codes? Do you have access to a scanner, that would allow you to read the idle air control (IAC) counts? Did you look at Shoebox's site for the IAC "reset" procedure?
Is it possible you bent some pins on the IAC harness, or damaged the wires?
Do you have the valve cover vent line and the EVAP vacuum lines installed to the correct connectors?
Is it possible you tore the inlet bellows?

I dont have a scanner...the ses light is on, the pins are also ok,, I was thinking, ...I did the TB coolant bypass also, is it possible that something during that couldve gotten messed up? now those two connectors on the bottom plate dont have anything going into them, thats right?

Re: new TB NEED SOME HELP!!
I dont know how I can reset the IAC because it says let the engine run for 5 seconds,...and my engine doesnt run for more than maybe 1 or 2.... also after it wouldnt start the first couple times I took that IAC pintle out and moved it alittle to see if that would help, and on shobox's site itsays no to touch that if its old, so maybe that messed it up, but it didnt start beore I touched it either....OMG wtf,,, and if I get a new one how will I know what the correct length is?

Re: new TB NEED SOME HELP!!
The two connections on the lower plate are for the coolant hoses. If you did the bypass, there is no harm in having the connections open. Most people will cap them with 3/8" vacuum caps, but thats just for appearance.
Correct... do not force the pintle.
You need to get it scanned. The SES light will tell you a lot more than all our guessing will tell you.
