Most discount auto parts stores will do scanning for you.

That seems to be a problem because the car isn't running however. How close are you to a DAP?

Re: new TB NEED SOME HELP!!

Your 96 is OBD-II. You can buy cheap scanners for as little as $40 (Harbor Freight). Our local Pep Boys chain store had an Actron OBD-II scanner for $60 this weekend.

Re: new TB NEED SOME HELP!!

P0122 = Throttle position sensor circuit low.

The PCM is seeing less than 0.20V with the throttle in closed position. It needs to be above 0.20 to get rid of the code, and to allow the PCM to set a baseline figure for the 0% throttle position. Its usually pretty easy to set it to 0.50-0.67V. You can slot the screw holes to make minor voltage adjustments. But the PCM doesn't really care, as long as the closed throttle voltage is between 0.20-0.90V.

You either have a faulty sensor, a problem with the blue wire, or the sensor is not being installed correctly by indexing it over the flats on the blade shaft.

Re: new TB NEED SOME HELP!!

now that you have your scanner, where is you iac at? If it is wide open, you probably only need to adjust your stop screw to open your throttle which will also increase your throttle position voltage.

Re: new TB NEED SOME HELP!!

but theres only really one way to get it onto the flat sections on the blade shaft...I mean it cant really go on another way plug on the bottom facing out? Ill just get a new TPS and see what that can do? and how do I check the Iac with the scanner?

Re: new TB NEED SOME HELP!!

well I replaced the TPS, and now it runs, but it still makes that whining noise alittle and it runs at like 900rpm idleing but it keeps revving up to like 2k by itself then back down again?????

Re: new TB NEED SOME HELP!!

and this whining noise is ridiculous, it sounds like its coming from the throttle body, or somewhere close to it...[EDIT]

Re: new TB NEED SOME HELP!!

Are you absolutely sure the elbow is on the throttlebody good. It's easy to have the bottom fold up in the tb instead of sealing around the outside and you may not be able to see it.. It will make a huge air noise. Feel around the elbow and make sure it's on all the way.

Re: new TB NEED SOME HELP!!

Oops, didn't see you had a trick flow. Guess that wouldn't be the case. Unless the rubber gromets are easy to fold up as well.
