New times with XE 236/242.
Went to Maple Grove Raceway today in PA for Thunder in the East, which was a HUGE success! Temperature was in the upper 80s-low 90s, and that was having a severe effect on everyone's times (and skin). Out of 6 runs, this was the best (first passes with the new combo):
60' 1.68
330' 5.05
1/8 7.93 @ 85.46
1000' 10.42
1/4 12.52 @ 107.25.
I was pretty pleased with the results, considering how hot the conditions were. The converter I have needs to go, hence the low MPH. It's a Midwest 3600, and is simply too damn loose. I'm also having some strange shifting problem that isn't the OBDI stall wall problem. It will shift from first to second, then almost immediately into third, being in second for about 3 seconds. 2nd gear doesn't even get to redline. I'll have to talk to Bryan @ PCMforless and try and figure that out.
Times ranged from the 12.52 to a 12.86, with the best 60' of the day being a 1.66 60' on a 10-bolt with 3.42 gears. Sooo...
[ricer] On a cold day with a tighter converter, and if my transmission was shifting properly, I could see a 12.2 I think. [/ricer]
Since my bolt-on times, I've added the following:
XE 236/242 .555/.576 112LS cam.
Crane Gold 1.6 rockers.
Comp pushrods, guideplates, and "R" lifters.
CSI electric water pump.
Cloyes double roller timing chain.
Jet Hot long tubes.
Jet Hot ceramic-coated y-pipe.
Hooker cat-back exhaust.
Holley 52mm throttle body.
Can't wait to get the kinks worked out and start shaving some more tenths!
Video to follow shortly!

Nice times.. I think too if you go to a 3200 stall you will see an improvement. Maybe not in the 60' but through the run it would benefit you. I have a 3600 stall to and had better success with my 3200 I had before that. Also in a bit cooler weather those times will be much better. What tire are you running at the track?
Congrats again..

Thanks. I'm probably going to go with a 3500 Yank or Vigi. These smaller brand converters don't seem to be cutting it anymore.
I was using 26x10.5x16 ET Streets. I gave the 10-bolt hell today with 6 passes under 1.7. LOL!

As for that 10 bolt. Consider Yourself Warned..... I toasted my Eaton Posi cause the pumkin on the 10 bolt was soooooo stretched from launching on it cutting 1.61 60's that it just got way to sloppy in there...
Good Luck!

Not bad, a loss in mph and a a pickup of .3 J/K!
Joe, you will see some real improvement for sure when you get the tranny/converter/gear issues worked out. What gear are you getting in the 9"?
Also, I gained .3 and 3mph between two different track days without doing anythign at all to my car. It was humid as hell and track prep sucked, then it was ~65-70% and decent prep.
All things said I would think you could easily see th 12.2 @ 110-112mph.

Nice times Joe. It was cool meeting you too. You car will definetly be much faster once everything is sorted out. I think you could hit high 11's in good weather. I kinda wish I had my car there but I really dont wanna race it again until my LT's are installed. Did you have your car retuned after the nerw mods? If not, there should be more power there as well. Good luck and I look forward to racing against you in the future.

I must say though, the track prep at MG was great. Dead-hooking every time!
