Talking New track times!

We (The Minnesota F body club) had a track day, road corse most of the day and then a drag racing in the afternoon and I got a new best ET out of the car. Previously in stock trim, K&N filter in the stock box and good gas in the tank it went 13.88 @ 99( I think on the MPH)
last night, on Nitto's, it went 13.501 @ 100.00! Now mind you the car has had a couple of things done to it, I cut the lid off of the stock air box and removed the crap that goes beyond the end of the air box. It has a hooker cat back and 3.73's.
There was no 60' timmers set up but it was a pretty decent launch, (other runs included Lots of low 14's, either spinning or bogging)
I am thinking that if I dead hooked(slicks) the car and could get it out of the hole it would run a 13.30 pretty easy, not bad for a car with 141,000 miles egh?

Re: New track times!

NICE Matt!!! Ack wish I could have been there but saving my money for school. Get the Jet Hots I gave you in there and she'll go a lot faster . BTW I'm going to have around 2 grand to get the car's exhaust and rearend up to code. How busy do you think you'll be at the end of September? I wanna put in a new diff. 3.73 gears, bearings, axels and whatever else to get the rear running like new. Hehe also got new shocks front and rear....now I can stop peeling the rubber off the top of the wheel well . Nice times man hopefully I'll be able to join the fun next summer. Hey atleast I'll be around for the fall cruise

Re: New track times!

Nice to hear, now get back in the garage (slightly influenced by the need for speed)

If you want an extra hand, I am not busy tonight, and could stop by if you wanted.

Thanks,
Chris

Re: New track times!

Yeah I don't know that I trust corrected times that much either. I took your advice and changed the rear gear lube and put the rear girdle onto this car. The stock cover was leaking and the lube in that one was pure black. Went out to ace hardware and bought all of their bolts.. total of 7.. So that's whats holding my rearend cover on right now. One bolt broke off while taking the old cover off. So I have a small lube leak right now but I'm searching around for 2 more bolts to seal it good enough. The noise(squealing) is still there but only comes out when im going over bumps/taking left turns/ or accelerating hard. I'm hoping some of those simptoms are linked to my bad shocks. Those will be fun to put in
