I was looking for my car over 2 months, and it was worth to wait. DONT BUY A CAR THAN YOU DONT LIKE!!!! (if you want M6 consider only M6 cars!!!). I purchased my car during winter, because at that time those cars are the cheapest. During summer more people will buy cars and thats why prices are little bit higher...

Sticker price was 8,900 for my 94 z28 in 2001 and I paid 9,500 after taxes. It had 78,000 miles on it.
In terms of best bang for the buck mods, as far as exhaust goes, I recommend a cutout. LT1's are known for sounding awsome with open exhaust. Your get a very deep aggressive tone and which screams when u get on it (but not too loud for around town use) and you are getting the best performance possible since you are eliminating the muffler(assuming u place it right b4 the rear axle like most people do) and all this for $30 plus install!! And if you dont like it (which wont happen) cap it on up and problem solved. But take my word for it, you will like it. I've had my cutout on for like 3 or 4 months and I havent capped it yet Then just get some good lookin tips for your stock pipes or even get a nice cat back for when u want it capped.
You'll love your new ride. Both A4's and M6's have their benefits and downfalls. Personally I have an A4 and i am very happy with it. It isnt like other cars that feel sluggish until you get a manual transmission. These cars are leaps and bounds faster than most cars leaving the dealerships as it is that you will be happy as long as u get a car that is in good shape. If you have a mechanic you trust, tell the dealer you want to have the mechanic check it out. This will do 2 things, it will tell u what condition the car is in, and if anything bad comes up then it will give u barganing room. Hope this helps, good luck with the search and always check the board if you are uncertain about something, the search option is my best friend

"Not too loud for around town use"? I dunno man, my **** was pretty loud when I did my cutout with stock manifolds It sounded bad-*** though, hopefully my corsa I ordered sounds good. But I agree about waiting and getting what you really want. When you're spending $5000 or more for something you wanna make sure its what you really want so you don't regret it. M6's are fun

My last car was a 93 base model eclipse. I saw an ad for an auto 94 Z28, one owner with 61,000 miles on it for 6995. I had to have it, and its fully loaded as well. I am very happy with it
Even though next summer I have to decide whether I want to put $5,000 into mine, or find a low mileage pre 98 M6 loaded, black.

Rte 44 huh? Where are you at in MA? I'm from Bridgewater.
Hell man, pick yourself up a Want ADvertiser for $2.50 on the first day it comes out and see if you can't snag something nice out of there. And like said, don't settle for something other than you want!

Anyway, Just today I picked myself up an "Auto-Hunter" magazine and was very pleased with what it has to offer. Heres the low down, you guys can tell me what you thinkg about each one I've found...
1994 Camaro Z28: t-tops, red, ps, pb, pdl, air, am/fm cass, V8, auto, lost job, must sell, $6,250 (no miles listed)
1994 Camaro Z28: t-tops, 350 motor, auto, air, stereo, a powerful car, take it for a ride, only $6995 (no miles listed)
1995 Camaro Z28: black on black leather, 350 V8, auto, loaded, cat back Flow Master exh., flawless $6,500 (no miles listed, no mention of t-tops either, cant tell from pic)
1993 Camaro Z28: 5.7, 6 speed, red, black, 83k mi, loaded up, nice car, gaurenteed lowest price in Auto Hunter Mag, $6,299 (no mention of t-tops, cant tell from pic)
So far I am leanign towards the 93 M6, but we'll have to see. I really want my Z to have t-tops, if it didn't how much would it cost to have that done? Can body shops do it? Let me know, thanks.

Alright, I did a quick search about the t-top conversion and I came to the conclusion that the cage is already cut for the tees to be placed there, well almost cut. This seems like a fairly simple job, only I wouldn't want to do it myself due to my lack of experience. I wouldnt want to mess it up, WOuld it be hard to convince a body shop to do it? It just seems so simple, I would expect them to agree. But I don't really know so...

Try cars.com. They aggregate classifieds from papers all over the country. You can put in a search radius and it gets cars from affiliated newspapers within that radius. I got my car this way for a very reasonable price.

Alright heres the update, The 95 Z28 has 92k miles on it and has no t-tops.
The 93 Z28 M6 has sold, but the guy now has a black 94 Formula with either 87 or 89k miles on it. He wants 7k for that, and it does have t-tops, forgot to ask if it was auto or manual.
Anyway, I am not sure what to do.
