Nice near stock LT1 time
Went to NMFE last weekend. Thought I would post this for the guys looking for some good mods and times for them.
Ran on crummy street tires. 18psi tire pressure in the back.
Prepped track, temps in the low 70's. A4 car.
Mods:
GMPP cold air
MadZ tune
TR-6 plugs MSD wires
SPOHN non adj LCA's, PHR, BMR STB, Auburn 3.42 posi with brackets
No A/C, AIR, rear seats, front sway bar, pulled spare and jack. T-tops, cruise, cloth, power seat, power locks.
Racetronix fuel pump with the harness not hooked up yet.
N20 in but not spraying, manifolds and stock y-pipe, magnaflow
Torn up intake elbow with a huge tear in it.
Mobil 1 15W-50
Red line gear oil
Free mods and 160 t-stat
Ran a consistant 13.8@100 with a 2.2 60 foot.
Got it down to a 13.812@100
Figure with the booster harness hooked up, a new elbow and loosing the 20 pounds I just gained it would go 13.7
Car runs out of steam on the top end, it ran high 8's in the 1/8th. I was running 6 speed LS1 SS cars and had them till around 85-90.
Was not worring about my R/T but I clipped off a few .097's not trying that hard.
With the pro stars I have and E.T. streets I figure it will go 13.4-13.5 based on the 60'. Throw in LT's, ORY, RR's it would get me dead low 13's on the motor. Throw in a stall and the 150 shot and it would get me 11's on the stock cam and heads.
I know of a 97 T/A with near identical mods and he went 13.9@99 at the same track on much larger street tires. Did not have the tune.
With the spare and jack in the car went 13.8@99. With it out it went 13.8@100
Wheel hop was pretty bad. On my last run my exhaust hit the car pretty hard and you can see it in the vid my buddy took. It also shook out the dip stick for the tranny.
Again this is just showing what you can do with very little work on a LT1

I went 13.8's @ 100 with full weight, stock wheels/tires, with just a cold air and a catback.
I think that torn elbow may be hurting you more than you think, should be quicker than that.

I don't consider your car TOO close to stock though, unless you consider a tune on a stock car - still a stock car. That, CAI, some suspension work your time seems about right from those around me that have run *similar* setups.
It also throws a rich code every now and then, I changed the plungs the night before and they were burning normal....
Totaly spaced to lube up the rear suspension before I left. I think that may have helped my wheel hop a tad. I am working on getting a video up of my last run.
I had the fastest stock heads and cam LT1 out there, all the others were in the 14 sec range. i was even tacking out the 04 Goat that was out there and holding of a Ls1 6 speed SS untill the FAR end of the track.
Figure the booster harness will help it a tad on the top end but its really just running out of steam in third.

My car is a 96 WS6 M6 with just a K& N filter ,under drive pulley, throttle body bypass,Borla catback and hypertech tune ( like that is worth something) on on street tires it has ran 13.39 @104.5 i think that is pretty good for whats been done to the car .I think with drag radials maybe 13.0`s may be possible .The car also made 297 h.p.

My stone stock 97 camaro went a 13.85 at memphis. I drive round trip over 100 miles a day back and forth to work. It is a a4 car with 2.73's. It went 99 mph with 2.01 60 ft. I couldn't believeit my self. My 93 is just a freak.

Re: Nice near stock LT1 time
havn't run a 1/4 yet only 8th. I'm running 8.34's at 77mph.
not many mods compared to what i wish I had. Only a cold air, exaust with headers y pipe cat delete and flowmaster. Rear end is 3:42's and 160 thermo and re-programmed. Previous (origianl owner ran it over in MS) and says he ran 13.2's and with the spray he removed 11's. All my runs are on 245/50/16 rims are aftermarket, full tank of gas to keep from spinning so bad; and my 240lb butt in the car.

I went 13.9 @ 100.11 with a hollowed cat and a flowmaster muffler in my '93 bird. My car is an M6 though. It was on a crappy 2.20 60' with some bald street tires. Never have got ant real numbers since all the mods, due the valve problem, and the burnt ring(s) thanks to the spray.
Anyways, nice times none the less. I've seen worse with more.
