Re: No Spark Help!!!

Do you have the signal on the white wrie from the PCM to the ICM (pin B), that tells the ICM when to fire the coil:

Have you scanned it for codes? Both a faulty ICM and the cam position sensor in the Opti will set codes if they fail. Some of those codes do not turn on the SES light.

You have to look at the procedure in the link I posted. It tells you what to test, how to test and what satisfactory readings are.

How did you try to scan it?

Re: No Spark Help!!!

Looks like I'm back to a no start issue again after having a broken opti a year ago, car sat 9 months, after fixing and having another no start issue that turned out to be the fp regulator flooding it....now Sunday car just died at a stop sign and won't start...had to have it towed.
So far the only tests I've done was to see if spark was getting to plugs....nothing. Unplugged coil wire to opti and put the spark plug tester on the end of it and connected it to ground..cranked but got no spark there either...... So now I'm going to do the tests in the link above that Fred posted if the coil ohms out ok..... Time is sparse these days so it could be a week or so before I have time to do this....for space reasons car is up in the air so I can't just go out and do it when I have time.
Guess I need to hook up the DataMaster also and see if there are any codes.
