Not holding fuel pressure after shut down

When I turn off my car I lose fuel pressure very quickly, within a minute the gauge is reading nothing. Should it be holding the fuel pressure for a while?

I just installed an aermotive Boost sensitive FPR.

Do you know for sure that it was holding pressure before the install? It's a pain, but you could swap back in the stocker and see if it holds pressure. When did you install the walbro 340? I don't know if pressure has to hold over night, but it should definitely not be zero after a minute.

The fuel pump has been in for a while, I did just had to take it out though and clean off the screen, it was plugged up with crap from the sock that was on it.

The FPR is new and the injectors are new.

Is there a check valve inside the pump, I wonder if some of the stuff made it past the screen and possibly messed up the pump?

Yes, it is not uncommon for the check valves in the fuel pumps to act up and bleed down the fuel pressure.

Yes, there's a check valve in the pump, and that sounds like your problem.

This is normal for the Aeromotive AFPRs. The rep from Aeromotive mentioned this in a previous discussion when I did a search on the subject a while back.

I was wondering about this. Anyone else heard this?

Not all pressure regulators hold the system under pressure at shutdown. Some, particularly those use in high pressure systems will release the pressure on shutdown, to remove the pressure from the injectors. I have a Weldon AFPR that works that way. When I go to start the engine, I turn the key to on to prime the pump(s) and try to start it exactly as the pump shuts off.

I do not know the specifics of the Aeromotive boost referenced AFPR. Why not ask Aeromotive directly?

Some pumps will hol pressure. Most factory style pumps have a spuc for it. I don't know what the spec is for the camaro but there is a thime it should hold pressure for and not drop below a certin psi. I also run a high pressure weldon pump and it does not hold pressure on shutdown.
