What would be involved in putting an OBD2 PCM into an OBD1 car?

Having it tuned to ignore all the OBD-II things it is expecting that an OBD-I car does not have and then swapping it in.

You'll find more people swap I > II not II > I.

 

Why would you do this?

 

I converted long ago when we could not fix the stall wall problem. I believe I had to wire 1 new pin to the computer and tap off the old connector for others. I wish I could remember exactly. I used some old manuals for the pin outs from I to II.

I have an OBD2 for sale and someone asked me what it would take to swap into their OBD1 car.

 

Hope they aren't doing it for emissions reasons...
