OBDI v6 vs v8

Are the OBDI computers between v6 and v8 different? I'm thinking of converting to OBDI and found a v6 module cheap at the junk yard that I would like to get reprogrammed.

The thing is Im assuming its out of a v6 because the speedo only went up to 110 (I think thats what it was)

On LT1 cars, if the car came with non-Z rated tires, it could have the 110 mph speedo, because the car is limited right around there. I'd check the vin of the car and check the eighth digit to see what letter it is, P is LT1, K is 3.8(and an OBD2 computer) and S is the 3.4L...

I do not think they are interchangeable.
