OEM Ignition vs aftermarket LTCC/DELTEQ

For those that have swapped a fully functional OPTI for either a DELTEQ OPTI Direct or LTCC what did you gain?

Who has done the swap and then ended up going back to stock ignition?

Thanks!

I have the Delteq and still have it. You don't really gain much if any on power, but I did notice a much smoother idle and it def helped me reroute my wires to keep them from burning on my headers. BTW - You don't completely replace the opti on both systems as they both still use the signal from the opti for the cam position.

Some nifty looking coils and shorter plug wires that are nearly impossible to burn. I said nearly.

Delteq is virtually out of business, so take that choice off your list.

I had a new LTCC which I never installed (I was waiting for my new engine to be built) but I ended up selling that and getting EFI Connections 24x ignition setup which completely eliminates the opti and upgrades you to the 01-up LSx computer.

Unless, of course, the optical cam position sensor fails.

The 8 coils significantly increase dwell time for building charge. On a power adder engine, making big HP, and turning high RPM, the stock, single coil system may not be up to the task.
