your lifters are fine you can spin them to 6500 and spin your stock shortblock that high. Anything higher then 6500 I would recommend comp R's for extra insurance. I know many of the lt1 boys around here with cc306, 847 and many custom big lift/duration cams. That use regular new lifters and spin their motors 7000 constantly with no problems.

I got R's in my car for the extra insurance. I got a 306 in my car and I personaly think its not that big of a cam. JMO later

thanks i feel a little better now i almost cant afford this but not having to change the lifters right away helps cause i have to order a converter tomorrow.

Put a rev kit on it. You don't even have to remove the head to do it. No valve float here with stock lifters.
