oh my god... im about to jump off a bridge

ok so as some of you remember... im having serious tranny problems... it won't shift out of second.... yada yada yada
im in a major hurry... if you want some history on this.... just search for the thread that starts with "oh sweet jesus"... anyway so im still driving my car figuring i can't hurt my tranny any more since i already need a new one im just milking it for all its worth...
anyway this is whats wrong... im driving the car home tonight and it starts making this grinding vibrating sound... and i just figure that the tranny is finally blowing for good and that i new this would happen... but the car still is going fine and all... i can't figure it out... it sounds/feels like the trans. but the rpms are fine they go up and down smooth with no problems... and all kinds of other stuff like that
this is whats weird: when i turn the wheel right (while basically going straight) the grinding sound gets much worse...
and when i turn it left it ALMOST goes away... the same is true when i hit the brakes fairly hard... no matter what speed i am going... this is all making me think that this grinding isn't coming from the tranny

and ideas would be SUPREMELY appreciated...

I would guess a wheel bearing/hub also if the grinding goes away when turning and or braking. Does the grinding sound vary with speed instead of RPM? Since the sound goes away when you turn left, check the right side bearing.

yes, its speed oriented not rpm.... which is what originally led me to believe it wasn't the tranny... i edited... it goes almost away when i turn the wheel slighty right... so i'll have the left checked... what about my tranny problems... do i just need a solenoid?

I'd suggest not driving the car. If your tranny "blows up", all the fragments will pass into your torque converter as well. I'm assuming it's still fine.

Replace the tranny before you do more damage.
