Oh My God!!!! Please help me!!!

so i am trying to get the crank hub off my car. i got a tip from sheobox's page to put a 1/4 drive extension in the hole so the hub puller has something to press against. Well apparantly my extension wasnt long enough, and when the hub started coming off the end of the drive got jammed in the hub hole.

What should i do?

Should i het the hub back on with a hammer, to reverse the process to get the extension out? if so what kind of hammer, or is there a tool to use?

Thanks

mt roomate suggested to drill it out, but i dont think thats a good idea. i took a rubber mallet to it a minute ago, but that didnt seem to work??

Maybe im just not hitting it hard enough?

if you plan on reusing the hub i wouldn't recommend banging on it with a hammer. but if you must i would try a rubber dead blow (sand inside) hammer. or you try drilling into the ext. with a bit the same size as the shank. but it's probably going to be hard as sh@t.

You didn't get that tip from my page. (not that I can remember, anyway)

Stick another 1/4 inch extension or drive into the end of the stuck one and see if you can wallow it loose.

You can use a block of wood and a hammer as a last resort to move the hub in.
