OIL FILTER? Which one do you use?

OIL FILTER? Which one do you use?
I was wondering if the LT1's in F Bodies use the larger oil filter than what the Vette uses. I have noticed that LT1's on Vettes use a smaller oil filter, almost half of what the old standard PH13 chevy's used for years becasue the LT1 Catalytic converters, or the exhaust mainfolds dont have enough room left in the space where the oil filter goes. But with long tubes you have allot more room.
So, do you guys use a PH13 size, or are you using a smaller one like the Vette?(92-96LT1/4's)

I use a Fram PH8A filter (same filter as our Ford F150)...because I have an oil cooler that has an adapter for that filter, but there is no clearance issues.

If the larger PH13, or a TG13 (or any larger filter) will fit in your car, use it! The reason, more filter capacity and a little more oil capacity in the system. The more oil you have in the system the greater the cooling time. For example; dry-sump NASCAR cars use about 28 qts for cooling and air elimination.

Re: OIL FILTER? Which one do you use?
Okay, I found the answer. Yes the F Bodies use a larger diameter oil filter. The PH13, FRAM, is longer also. The factory uses a PH30 size, which a is a couple inches shorter (must be a cost thing). All I need, now that I have the room on my Vette, is the adapter that the oil filter screws onto in the F Bodies.
Thanks for the help.

Re: OIL FILTER? Which one do you use?
well, I am using Fram PH373 filter after I removed my oil cooler. ~$11 for a Fram, but it is about 4 times bigger than stock, car takes now extra 1.5 quarts of oil. It cost a bit more, but it is well worth it. I also have a Neodymium magnet on the bottom of my oil filter, that thing so dam powerful Bought it from

Also have one neodymium magnet glued on my oil pan screw (matching diameter). That thing is more than 10 times stronger than the magnetic oil pan screw autozone sells
I believe bigger oil filter is better
