Oil galley ball

Oil galley ball
I'm finishing up a rebuild and was wondering about a supposed 'oil galley ball'. I've got the 'How to rebuild small-block LT1 book' and it refers to a small ball below the 5th main bearing cap. Does this actually exist? I don't remember knocking it out, and I don't remember it falling out. Should there have been one in the first place?!?! I had my block hot tanked/honed/etc and the shop said that my engine had seen some work done to it before. Maybe they didn't put this little guy back in?
I don't want to put her all back together and have zero oil pressure.
Thanks,
J

I read the same book and just before I put my motor back together I thought the same thing. The ball is in there. If you didn't take it out, I don't think the machine shop would. I didn't take mine out and it was there when it came back from being hot tanked. If you are still worried, I think the book has a pretty good picture of where it is, just shine a light in there and I think you can see it.
good luck
