I sent a friend in to autozone to pickup a FELPRO oil pan gasket.

They came home with an engine seal (house brand of autozone i guess).

Does it really make that much of a difference? I dont wanna run back into town for another one, but then again i dont wanna have to tear my kmember back off to do this again.

Any input?

Also is the metal piece that was with the stock gasket supposed to be reused? Or is it just used with a certain brand?

Someone atleast tell me if the metal part is seperate from the gasket and to be reused or not =D

Hey man, I just did my oil pan gasket. I used the felpro piece, its a nice rubber one. I'm not sure what you're talking about reusing the metal piece, unless you mean the metal bolt guards that go alongside the sides of the pan, before the pan. Reuse those.

Mine had a metal piece with the gasket, it was a PITA to get off because it was stuck around the dipstick rube.
