It never ceases to amaze me how GM continues to change the locations of their sensors and senders. This is yet another example.

On my 96 Vette, the hole above the oil filter is for the OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR and the OIL PRESSURE SENDER is behind the intake in a tee with a FUEL PRESSURE SWITCH which operates on oil pressure.

Go figure.

Probably economics ... ~ 2 feet less wire used, times however many Camaros built after the change. (I wonder how many miles of wire were saved @ X$/mile?)

Is the connector the same for both sensors ('93-early '94 and late '94 -'97)?

Shoebox has a list of the part numbers for the various connector pigtails, and there is only on number shown for the oil pressure sensor:
