Oily stuff in intake.

I am in the process of repairing the intake oil leak, yes still . I noticed that the is an oily film on the inside of the intake. I am assuming that this is from when the valve cover tube was connected to the TB and oil was sucked into it. I have since removed this tube and added an air breather to the valve cover.

My question, finally, is should I clean out the intake with some carb cleaner or just not worry about it?

Thanks.

It's normal. You can use carb cleaner to clean it up. Doesn't really harm the engine so just do it after the intake is reconnected.

i just did my intake oil leak fix also, and my intake was oily. I used some carb cleaner and a wire brush, looks like a toothbrush. From what i understand its normal. A good cleaning wont hurt any.
