OK, Changed my window motor, now have a slight bang. Please help with any suggestion

As it says changed my window motor with one I bought from Advanced Auto.
Now when the motor is engaged going from fully open to closed there is a slight bang at first then the door panel pulls in about a 1/4". This stays this way until the window is fully open, then the panel comes back into place.
What did I screw up??

I have no clue but off the top of my head it sounds like it's just not bolted down all the way. Have you taken it apart and watch it while you are moving it up and down. If not do that and see what looks to be your problem.

when i installed my new motor, the window would bang when almost fully closed. The window was just getting binded as it was going up.

All i did was adjust the window. Now its fine.

Well it looks like I'll have to take it apart and see what's happening (as suggested).
Just kicking myself that I didn't pay more attention before I buttoned it up.

You may not find anything. The door does have some flex to it and that may be what you are hearing. Perhaps your new motor has a little more power and is causing more flex.

Thanks,
I was thinking the same thing (that it was a stronger motor, that what it feels like).
Anyway I'll take a look and see if I see anything.

My window has had slop in it since I replaced the motor. I haven't looked at it, but I think either the motor mount bolts are loose, or the rivets that hold the glass to the frame are worn out.
