how do you get the old U-joint out of the driveshaft....I've heated it (supposedly to weaken the injected nylon) put it in my vise as tight as I can....pryed on it, hammered it....I'm all out of options...how do you get the darn thing out????

did the nylon seep out? Cause you need to heat it up until it all seeps out. then hammer the **** out of it. I personally wnet and bought a mutipupose ball joint remover tool to press mine out. much easier....

what did you use to heat it up to the point that the nylon seeped out? I used a propane torch and it didn't budge! also, where to you get a "mulitpurpose ball joint remover" at???

I also used a propane torch, it takes like 5-10 minutes atleast to get them to heat up enough for the nylon to seep out. I got my multipurpose remover tool from a local autoparts store. costed me 90 bux but it can be used for many things and its worth it IMO.........

I had to do that once on my old Formy...used an oxy-acetlene for about 5 minutes...sucker came right out with minimal hammering. I think you guys just need more heat.
