I would love this setup instead of the LTCC that I have now. Now using the OPTI at ALL would be great. The only problem I have is the SS air Lid for the Fuctional Ram AIR. Makes it kidna hard to use the coil mounts that are available on the deiver side of the motor.

If I had the money I would be all over this setup right now, and it would be cheaper since I already have the coils.

Can anyone give a rough estimate of what the price would be for this setup.

Nevermind I found the prices on the site. I figured it would be around $1,600, that pricey but well worth it to get rid of the junk opti. But I will have to stick with the junk opti for now.

Where did you guys get the coil brackets that mount using the LT1 valve cover bolts?

The brackets we used for prototyping are one-off. My favorite design (and what we're currently fabricating for our LT1 engine) was first done for a local build. Cast aluminum valve covers with screws/bolts from the bottom side. Threaded aluminum spacers to serve as coil mounts. This is a custom job not offered by EFI Connection. It's simply an example of one man's creativity.

If you already have the coils mounted you got the hard part done. We will be working with EFI connections to get a good DIY harness write up.

I got better rpm pull, trans feels better when it shifts. I am not talking it shifts harder it just feels better when it shifts.I won't have to worry about it not shifting at the track when pulling 1.4 60ft times. I can lock the converter in 3rd gear now something we could never do with the LT1 pcm @ WOT.

We are putting together some info that will be posted as far as gains in power and rpm. I will make a new thread once we have all the data put together explaining all my different setups.

BTW I do have a LTCC setup forsale if someone is crazy enough to buy it lol.. (perfect working order)

Here is a link to how I mounted my coils. I did basically what Mike did, but I welded some rods to my valve covers and drilled and tapped them for the bolts.

Another thing that is good about the EFI kit is they will work with any LSX coil setup. The LTCC would not work with the 5.3 coils that have the heat sink block on them.

Well after getting the 24X kit up and going , after we dynoed it all night, street raced it the day after and when I was about to drive it home after doing the LS1 air lid install, we were standing back looking at it and heard a faint knock coming from the motor. So the next day I took the motor out. I am waiting on AI and it should be back up and running within the next month.

All is well. Yesterday we had a 383 up and running with 24x on the dyno at the TPiS facility (http://www.tpis.com). We pulled the motor to about 6400 rpm and made about 480hp/450tq. The motor is now on display (and running) at the Car Craft Summer Nationals show through July 19th. We're there to demonstrate and represent the 24x equipment.

This is pretty cool, but it doesn't help anyone who still requires the OBDII plugin emissions test.

without the original PCM you're hosed.

I can't even begin to contemplate getting my car smogged in California. So I motor it over to Arizona and it passes. But they OBDII port check the PCM.

Maybe for a track-only car... But where are cars smog exempt?

Since you would be using an LS1 OBD-II PCM, why could it not be reprogrammed with your correct VIN?

With the normal bolt on's. Thats going threw the full exhaust with a borla cat back opened on the Rt side.

Just got to thank Phil for all his help in getting my car to where it is today. Hopefully by this fall it will be making over 600 rwhp.
