opti oil seal?

Yesterday I removed my opti and I noticed that the two little rings on the shaft had broken. They just got brittle and then kind of fell of in my hand. Are these necessary and can they be replaced? The last thing I want is another oil leak.

Exclamation Re: opti oil seal?

Hey Shoe, do you think if the o-ring are missing, that this could cause a high rpm miss? Do to the fact it sems they are there to stabilize the shaft. If they were missing or broken, would this cause the opti to deflect enough to cause the engine to miss?

That might be hard to prove, but possible, I guess.
