Opti Question

I was doing the rotor pop rivet mod and as i was putting the rivet in the rotor is put a slight crack in the plastic part of the rotor at the end of it. Will this be a problem down the road? Or can it be fixed with some sort of adhesive?

rotor

we'd have to see pic's of the crack to see how bad it is to make that judgement. You must've had one strong rivot for the plastic to break before the rivot was crimped down. Were you using aluminum rivots? Just by you saying it has a crack in it I would say dont use it. These rotor buttons are the weak point for high rpm's anyways, I wouldnt take the chance.

How old is the opti? I wonder if the plastic is just old and brittle.

the crack isnt that bad. Ill get pics up today if I can.

Its the very front of the rotor where the plastic is square it cracked a little.

I really dont have the money to purchase a new rotor and gm doesnt sell just a rotor?

Has about 12k on it (using delteq) and its about 1 year old. But I dunno if my vacuum harness was right since I put it together with random hoses =/ lol

I know spending the 180 or whatever it is for a new cap and rotor is cheaper than an opti. But also I noticed that the bearing was way loose. It probably had 1/8" play in it. Too loose for anyones liking. So should I just get an oem ebay opti? Or what? Because now that I know that I should just replace the whole thing anyways

Im just going to get the msd cap and rotor from autozone. its only $154 and hopefully the bearings hold out a little bit longer, or atleast long enough for me to have money to buy a new unit
