Optispark upgrade questions...
Right now I'm pretty sure my opti is bad just from looking at it. Well in shopping for a replacement I have found the exact same one is between $280 and 450 with rotor and cap. At autozone I believe they have the whole vented one for like $130!! What all do I need to do to upgrade? I know that you have to get the timing cover and cam locator pin ( i think ) but what else needs to be done. The timing cover it like $52 so I'm only up to around $180. Any info is appreciated! Thanks!!

Vented Opti Conversion
I suspect if you check the AutoZone price, you will find it is either the cap/rotor, or the back 1/2, not the complete unit. You can get a genuine GM, completed vented Opti from Jason Cromer for $190.

I dont know about anyone else but I have found when it comes to electrical parts its best to use GM parts. I got 3 ignition control moduels from AZ and none of them worked on my car they all threw codes and wouldent let it run...
