Out of ideas. PCM??
My car has been giving me a lot of trouble lately. I think it might be the PCM. The last time it was working OK the speedomoter and the charging gauge were kind of whacked out.
Then the car simply wouldn't run. It threw code 18. I cleared it and eventually it started and ran for long while. Now it had codes 18, 16, and 42. The optispark on it is under 10,000 miles, and last time I replaced both the optical sensor and the cap and rotor. I find it hard to believe I have a real Lo-res failure.
Now, when i turn the key on, engine off, the dashboard is dead. There is still power to my radio and locks and windows, but the dashboard is a gonner.
I'm really at a loss. I just want some opinions before I blow I don't even know how much on a PCM.
Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by the dash is "dead" - all the lights, instruments and gauges, including all the ones that have nothing to do with the PCM (fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temp, system voltage)?
Doesn't sound like the PCM. Sounds like a system voltage problem, faulty grounds, etc.
