pacesetter headers on 96 transam
does anybody know if pacesetter headers and Y pipe fit with the stock location of the the stock piping. or if you have to move everything else around, like the cats or have to get a cat back exhaust system with them.
because i have the stock piping and cats with just a muffler at the end of the stock exhaust piping.

Re: pacesetter headers on 96 transam
i think i understand what ur asking, and it is you replaced the stock muffler with a performance muffler of some sort and didnt get a complete cat back, and want to know if the headers and y-pipe will work? the answer is yes, you have to get a reducer made but why would you do that? your trying to increase flow with headers, to only reduce it with stock pipeing. def. get an aftermarket catback. hooker or magnaflow make really nice catback exhuasts at a decent price.
edit: the beginning of your post is confusing and if your asking the the pacesetter headers will fit the stock y-pipe, that is a no... clearify if u can..

It depends on what style of header you go with. If you get the mid-lengths, they will reuse the factory y-pipe, with some possible modification though, and the cats will stay in their respective locations. If you go with the long tubes, you will need a different y-pipe altogether which will not have cats at all. Either style you go with though, you can still reuse your catback.
