Kooks long tubes and you can get them stepped too, and you don't need to get them coated (stainless)

I have less than 600 miles on my car since I put on Jet Hot LT's and mine are rusting in between the primaries where they all come together for the collector. My car has seen rain maybe once or twice. It has been garaged the rest of the time. Everything else is good (ground clearence, y-pipe fitment (eventhough I have true duals now), etc.).

Reread my post, I clearly stated my car IS NOT driven in the rain or snow and I put about 500 miles on the car since the headers were installed.

Re: Pacesetter or Jethot?

My Jet-Hots developed surface rust by the collectors. That and I dont like how the shine in the sterling silver finish on the header got so dull so fast. They look great when new. I hope a good quality black coating can do better so I dont have to worry about the color fading.

Call Jet-Hot and special order one of their other coatings.
They won't be as pretty but they will be tough.
Alot of their other coatings are black or green but, they are good are for 2200 + deg.
I like my Pacesetters great clearence no collector leaks and I did not have to move my brake lines like you have to with the Hooker/Jet-Hot.
Mine have about 1500 miles on them and they are losing their luster. I have not seen any rust, but I was thinking about sending them in for the higer quality black coating. If I had it to do again, this is what I would have done from the start. Anyone have any idea on the cost of this coating?

No..I did not anyway.

I'm torn as to which I liked better. Neither coating held up worth a damn. The pacesetter install might have gone a little easier, or I just got better at it.

I actually prefer the 3 bolt y-pipe flange on the Jet-hot, to the slide-on pacesetter.

Re: Pacesetter or Jethot?

Okay well now i am really really leaning towards pacesetter after googling those kooks headers. those are out of my price range. i have too many upgrades coming in the near future to be spending over 800 on headers without a y pipe. they look and sound nice tho. just too much for my blood.

actually the kooks header would benefit all ur upgrades

especially if ur going stepped. but also depends on how much power u plan on , the kooks stepped is only neccasary if u plan on say 500-600 hp.

kooks are expensive but are one of the best headers out there

pacesstters would work fine, i dont have alot of experience with them but all the ppl i know say they fit like a charm. (new design)

Re: Pacesetter or Jethot?

I have the 'mid-length' pacesetters, and they suck ***..
I would definetely recommend the Kooks, they are expensive but.. A big time drag racer told me: "..don't waste money on crap headers..."
Here is a link for some Kooks:
http://www.kookscustomheaders.com/pr...=LS1%20/%20LT1

Have you ever tried GOOGLE?
It is cool, you just type in what you are looking for and it finds it........

Re: Pacesetter or Jethot?

yes i have tried google thanx. lol. i am not thinking anywhere near 500-600 horsepower. more like 400. i am doing a cam, rockers, pushrods, springs, headers, throttle body, that will pretty much conclude my engine work. i am not doing the heads for many many many years to come. and i wont be buying mids. if i am going to do it i am going to get LT's

pacessetters or jethots would work fin for u tho , the decision is yours. Each manufacturer has had their problems and "bad batches" so its kinda a hit or miss.

good luck with either u chose, enjoy teh power and sound
