Pacesetter LT's with AIR/EGR or race?

My car is completely stock right now but my plans now that I'm gonna have it off the road for a while are coated pacesetter LT's, dual 2.5" exhaust, and just a CAI for now. I'm ready to buy my headers so i can put them in to have my duals done. I found a good deal on them from speed engineering now I'm wondering, should I get the race version or the ones with all the fittings? What difference does it make other than cleaning up my engine bay? I thought about removing the AIR pump even though it has no effect. What else does the race version eliminate EGR? I'm just worried that if i get the race headers I'll have a lot more work to do. Any advice on what to do here?

if emissions are not an issue you can get the race version.

no performance gains in deleting air and egr, but if you don't need to pass emissions, then i would do it. It really cleans up the engine bay and drops a few pounds of weight as well. Plus, since you have an OBD-1 car, you won't throw any codes. deleting AIR and EGR is really easy. Just buy some EGR block-off plates on ebay and thats it.

You don't need air or egr to pass emissions.

Emissions is not a problem for me. So I should get the race headers and take out the AIR and EGR and buy a block off plate for the, intake?
Also what about the O2 sensors?

personally i chose the emissions style since my 96 is a driver for all occasions. there is NO need to remove the tubes,no proven performace sacrifice!

I thought that it would still throw the codes if you don't tune the computer even if its OBD1? If that's the case then will it throw codes on the OBD1 hybrid found on some 95 cars?

you need a 12" and a 24" o2 extension. another thing you can get on ebay.

OBD-1 will not throw a code as long as you leave the EGR solenoid (on the DS back of the intake, its a green plug) plugged in.

Nice, probably going to order the race version soon while the sale is good and get them in, then worry about taking all the crap out.

Buy the automotive wire at walmart and make the extensions yourself, its not hard. Took me about 20 min per 02.

You put them in. The engine still needs them to run. You will also need your car tuned for no EGR and AIR, and for no cats.

It depends on where you live and the emissions laws there. In CA, you will fail inspection for missing both of those, and you will most likely fail the sniffer with no EGR.

You can get extensions, or splice into your wires, pacesetter gives you everything you need to splice the wires, atleast in my long tube race headers they did.
