There is a big difference between shorties and long tubes. I've had the tes headers as well as mac midlength and now pacesetter long tubes. Track times dont lie. I gained 2 tenths over the macs. I put the tes headers on a supercharged camaro I had and only gained 1 tenth over stock manifolds.

No way, really??? We may be one of like 10 people in the world that was able to get our hands on these things. SLP (Dave H.) told me they were messing around with these things trying to see if there was a market for them. The LT4 cars (at least the first bunch) received standard castings. Only a few later models got the Stainless extrude honed ones. I picked them up for a few hundred bucks many years ago to put on my LT1. They sold/made very few and later bailed on the idea since headers cost the same amount.

I hogged mine out even further, and polished the insides to a mirror finish (at least what I could reach). After my dyno run, I'm willing to bet I'm giving up very little to shorties, but don't have to deal with the heat issues. Plugs are a pain, but no melted components like with uncoated headers either. I always like to "sleeper" look.

Too bad there's no market for these. Unfortunately, super rare does not necessarily equate to demand.

A little trivia for the young-in's out there.
