Pacesetter LT's w/ ORY-pipe? thoughts?

I'm planning on getting the pacesetter LT's for my LT1. I'm not sure if the ORY-pipe will be worht the $130. Does it improve the flow and sound? Will the pacesetters fit w/o the ORY-pipe and hook to the cats. I have a flowmaster muffler as of right now, should i get a differen't cat or what? I've also heard about the ture dual exhaust and i like that but it's a little more money than i'm looking to spend. If it is worth it though i'm willing to look into it. I don't like it really load but i like to turn heads when i drive by and i want it noticeable...Loudmouth is too loud..What have ya'll done to yours and what do you think? Thanks for any thougths and help.

When I first did my Pacesetters, I did true dual exhaust with a X pipe and bullets. It sounded mean as hell but was way to loud and the ground clearance sucked. I took off the true duals and bought the off road Y pipe, and then fabbed that up to fit to a Hooker catback. I love it now. Its pretty quiet at idle and light acceleration but under a load its plenty loud. Sounds great too! You won't be able to run your normal cat(s) with the LT headers unless you had something custom done.

94 camaro how's the ground clearance now with the y pipe vs the duals. Are your headers the lowest point on your car.

Headers are the lowest point but not by much. I think the Pacesetter LTs have the best clearance out of all the LTs available. As far as the clearance of the rest of the exhaust...its great. I have not bottomed out once over large bumps, driveways, or anything.

Do it... I have the Jet Hot LT's with a ORY pipe and a cut out, and sounds awsome. Any LT+ORY pipe+cut out will sound awsome.

alright, well i'm somewhat new to the exhaust side of things...what exactly do you mean by "cutout" and how much does it cost to get it done? Sorry if it's a stupid question, but i like to know the most about what i'm getting into. Thanks for the great info guys.

A cut out can be purchased for about $40 and welded in for another $40-$50. It's easier to understand how one works, if you check on various performance part websites... i.e summitracing.com, jegs.com... etc.

If I were you I would get the race headers, I didn't I got the ones with emission fittings for the air and for the EGR. Let me tell you I wish I hadn't the EGR fitting ended up being right smack dab in front of the tranny dipstick tube. couldn't hook that up. I went to put on the Air fittings....suprize the dont line up. So then I take all that stuff out as well. Then you need M22 drain plugs to plug the bungs on the headers, If you do go that route I would plan ahead and go to Napa and order them before the install. I ran into a lot of fittment issues with the headers , all in all It was worth fireing it up , you'll love it.

Ok so i've been searching around about cutouts....so do they take place of the y-pipe. Getting the cutout instead of the ORY-pipe. Or is it get the ORY-pipe then get 2 cutouts???

If it were me, I would get the Headers, and the ORY pipe. You can always weld a cutout into the exhaust later if you need to.

Plus, a cutout is SUPER loud. I mean, instant "arrest me" loud. Fun for a little while, but gets old fast. Now, an electric cutout is cool because you can open and close it from inside the car.

The Hooker catback exhaust is favored my many once they go with headers and ORP. It doesn't have the raspy sound of some other catbacks once headers are installed.
