The crane 10308s will sit on the stock seats in the heads, no need to add anything and you can achieve a 1.75" installed height.

As long as you are OK with 169# closed pressure installing these springs at 1.75"
is OK. Even after they lose some pressure you are going to be well over 140# closed.
These springs are intended for a 1.85" installed height. I would not install them
at 1.75" or use the stock spring seats. That's the beauty of this forum, you get to
take all this free advice and decide for yourself.

I chose to use Crane 96872 springs instead of the 99893 which are in the 10308 kit.
I did this because the 391#/inch spring rate for the 99893 is way more than I
need for my application. They both have the same closed pressure and are intended
for installations with longer valves, hence the 1.85" installed height.

Just curious, why is installing a hi flo oil pump a bad idea. I thought they were supposed to be better.

You're absolutely right. At times it gets a little confusing getting different viewpoints from different sources but if you break down and analyze the info you should be able to make to the right choices.
I see you live in Downey. It's very nice up there. Reno's not far away. Feel like taking a road trip to help me setup my valve train? LMAO

I think some bad info that gets tossed around is pulled from Gen 1 information.

The LT1 oilpump is already a good improvement over older smallblock pumps in stock form, at least more like the after modification than the before shown in that article.

Feel free to PM me with any questions. I've played around with a few different setups,
done a lot of research, made some bad choices, and hopefully some good ones as well.

Parts Day!

I went to Summit today and bought most of my parts. I'm very excited! I can't wait to get her back on the road again.

Here's some pics.
