Pcmforless or Hypertech?

Pcmforless or Hypertech?
I am at the point where I am going to get a performance chip for my 93' Z28, it has a SLP cai, and air foil, Magnaflow cat-back, a gutted catylitic, and a 160 degree thermostat. Which one of these will give me more horsepower, or is there a better one? Recomendations?

i wouldnt do any tuning yet....u dont have any mods that require it. Not gonna see a whole lot of change with what you have done. But to choose one or the other, pcmforless is better, but once u do it, unless you have the capability to do updates yourself, that would be a waste. Personally i think the hypertech is not good at all.

e-mail tuner@madz28.com and www.madz28.com
Ion is one hell of a nice guy and knows what he is doing plus he frequents this board and is willing to answer questions

Well, i woudl completely rule out the Hypertech, cuz that thing is only good for gear changes and fan activation temps. PCMFORLESS or MADZ28 tuning will help you out WAY more. Ion at MADZ28 says that his tune will give you aproximately 5-7hp on a bone stock car(i think thats what it was, could be wrong). Also, he can do more things for you than that hypertech could even begin to think about doing.

I thought Ion only did 94+, because of the chip. I know he is great with the 94+'s.
Goto www.speeddensity.org Its just for 93's, and Alvin has his own spot on there. You can talk directly to him, and see others experinces with him.

I'd go with Alvin, simply because he will continue to update your chip at reasonable prices, as you get more mods + he's got a great rep with the 93s. BTW, Look at what ED Wright charges now to reflash your chip, and you'll choke on it...
Peronsally, I used a hypertech chip when I was realatively stock, with only a few bolt on's, and it performed great. I showed a 4 tenths ET drop with one of those dashboard dynos. Hey, I dont trust them much either, but I could definitely tell there was a power increase. I sure see a lot of people downing the hypertech chips, but most are 94-97 guys that have never used one...

theres a difference between a burned chip for a 93 and the power tuning for the 94-97s. IMO i'd just save my money and get headers, thats the best mod i've done on my car (which will change after i put the cam in ) i think you'll see better performance, not to mention sound from that.

maybe 20 with the mods and the tune.
I got 7hp to the wheels with MADZ28 tuning. thats STOCK.

I once saw a 130 hp and 240 ft lb gain from a tune...... on a deisel.
So I better expect that right.
I would like to see a 28 hp gain on a stock Fbody.
