people with delteq question
hey guys, well i am gonna do the delteq mod one day, and it might be soon it might not. depending on this question that i ask. i know that when you use the delteq system that you keep the opti on and it is used as a cam sensor. but my question is, my opti is fine now, can i wait for the opti to go bad and then get the delteq... but the thing is when the opti goes bad, do i have to replace it for the delteq to work right? get what i'm saying. does an opti that doesnt spark still work with the delteq in the way it is supposed to be? sorry if i am makin no sense. i have been trin to get in touch with delteq for the past couple of days and have had no luck. thanks in advance

Re: people with delteq question
Well usually its not the sensor part of the opti that goes bad but sometimes it is. So realistically i wouldnt wait till it went bad or you might havve to buy a new one it really depends on how it fails but also the opti will last alot longer without the constant sparking inside it though. So long and short buy it before the opti fails im sure it will be cheaper and you will still like it alot more. One thing i have to say is make sure to buy the whole kit from delteq or new, because i actually bought a supposedly new set of coils and icm on ebay and got hosed so becareful.

Re: people with delteq question
Yea, normally the optical parts of the opti work even if it's missing; but if it's the original opti and you have high miles, I'd swap it out with the Delteq. I had about 25K on my 3rd Opti of the car when I put the Delteq on, and have put about 22K on the Delteq Setup and have no problems.
I got lucky with the coils/ICM that I got off ebay; mine work great. Did a custom mount, with Taylor custom wires.

Mounted mine ontop of the intake.
