hot cam is for girls who dont want a nice idle. cc306 cam 1.6 comp promagnum roller rockers, comp 26918 beehive springs with appropriate locks and retainers. i daily drove this setup with a 6 speed and pcmforless tuning for over a year constantly kicking the **** out of it. also it doesnt completely decimate your gas mileage.

I would much rather run the 503 then the 306 for an off the shelf cam-only setup.

For overall price considerations. Patriot Gold extreme kit from thunderracing and there is a guy right now selling a brand new cc503 in the for sale section you can pick up for much cheaper than comp or thunderracing will sell it to you for. Springs and cam if you get the cam on this site will run you about $500. He's also selling a GM 847 so between those two cams you can't go wrong. O and yes a GM847 is fine for a DD it's just a little on the wild side so if your looking for something less wild but the best of both worlds the CC503 has been proven to work great on stock LT1 heads in the past.

^Not sure if your refering to the statement I have posted however; I have personnally driven a GM847 camed LT1 stock bottom end stock heads that had excellent street manners w/no cam surge on a 2800 stall A4. It trapped 89mph in the 1/8th and ran consistent 7.7xx times in the 1/8th with 1.8xx 60' times. So from those results and my own personnal experiance I post my input to the OP. With this being said I still recommend the CC503 for the OP and leave the GM847 decision completely up to him.

these guys come in here, telling you to get the biggest cam you can. They are a bunch of ninnies for the most part. You do not need a big cam to run well.
Look at a Lingenfelter 219/219 .560/.560 cam. it will outperform most of the big cam cars out there, give you a little lope, and great low end power for driving around. It will be a much more enjoyable car.
