performance shift mod or transgo?

im gonna be swapping out my 4L60E for a T-56 sometime next year so i was wonderin if it would be necessary to go with transgo. i have research this topic all day just to keep from bringin up old stuff that has already been posted about but cant find the answer to my question. if i decide to do the performance shift mod thingy then will it have any negative effect on my tranny. i was going to get a real shift kit at first (transgo) but when i decided that i was going to switch to a 6spd i wondered if it was worth it. if the performance shift mod is completely safe then can someone give me a link to some REALLY thorough directions as to what i will need and how to do it. i hate tryin to do **** and the dam direction dont fully explain WTF it is your supposed to do ...ok , thanx

You can use what you want out of this info. You don't have to buy at the fancy switch stuff if you don't want to. There is another wiring diagram that I can't seem to find on the net. I have a copy of it on my pc. Email me if you want it.

[edit] Sorry, I can't seem the find the diagram on my pc either.

If you're gonna do the t56 swap I wouldn't do either. Unless you have alot of mods all it will do is "feel" faster.....might not notice a time decrease.

I had my A4 rebuilt and beefed up and installed a TransGo kit and I love the quick shifts (especially with 3.73s) but if I were you I would just wait until you get the M6.

I have a Shift Kit in my car ( dont know what kind bought it with it in there ) sure is fun if you want to replace tires spins in 2nd just about every shift chirps 3rd sometimes, kinda gotta watch for cops if you give it to much gas really spins the tires. only thing I wish is it was a manual.

I used to wish I had a 6 speed....there are times now when I want my auto back....launches made easy. I pulled a 1.86 60ft on yokomama street tires (avs intermediates).

Will the performance shift mod do more than my Hypertech did as far as shift firmness, or does it basically do the same thing?

It is similar in that aspect, but it also changes the up and down shift points (mph).

I figured it was the same, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing out on any free mods.

ok let me rephrase the question i meant to ask at hand but may have confused some of you guys with. will the "performance shift mod" have any negative effect on my car (trans) like the shift improver thingy does? if it does then i will not do it b/c i dont need to keep rebuilding this POS, but if it doesnt then i will go ahead and try it b/c its not worth buying the $100+ transgo unit when i aint even gonna have the 4L60E that long? everyone follow me? btw its not an option to just do neither b/c i said so!

I've never done it but I believe there were some posts about it damaging the tranny.
