did it happen to include a part number with the paperwork?

right now i have the bad design pump (M-55HV) Not by choice i'll deal with that later, And the IS-55E Driveshaft and im wondering if it will work with the M-10555 pump.

Before I ordered my Melling Select HV pump, I called the Melling tech support line. The guy I spoke to suggested that I not use the drive shaft that comes with the model 10550 HV pump but to use their chrome moly drive shaft instead (P/N 12550), which I ordered at the same time. As I remember, it was something like $10-$12 from Summit.

Thank you, Just contacted George there and he told me the samething. Now i will order a new pump/pickup & Driveshaft.

I used the 'regular' tube size canton version #20-020, I believe the 5/8".
Anyway, I have over 1500 road racing miles on the engine using 40 & 50 wt oils screaming around the track between 3500rpm & redline for laps on end. no problems what so ever. so, no, I don't think the 3/4" pickup is necessary

Whats wrong with the shaft that comes with the oil pump?

Thanks for the input. Im also wondering if there is a noticeable difference from using a bigger inlet.

According to melling the best pump they have with the 25% Increased volume is the 10555 and that needs a 3/4'' Pickup so thats why i was switching from the 5/8ths to 3/4

George didn't say, All he said is that is the one they recommend to use with the Hv pump

Not sure which one comes with that pump, but some of them come with a plastic coupling which is considered a weak point.
