I'm in the process of building a forged 383 LTX, and accidentally over-filed one of the piston rings today. Does anyone know where I can get a single replacement ring (2nd compression ring)? These are Speed Pro plasma moly rings. The part number on the box is R-9401 35. I called Jegs and they weren't able to help. Speed Pro doesn't deal with customers directly, at least according to their website.

depends on how much.......How much is it? If your under .030 go with it.
You may not be able to buy one ring either (even though you may not need it) But you can get just 2 second ring set....

It's embarrassing to say, but it's around .040" gap. This was the first ring I've ever attempted to file (using a ring filer tool), and I went slowly at first, taking measurements very often. Then on the last grinding session I must have gotten carried away or something because I overshot badly. I finished all the other rings with no problems and they're all exactly what I targeted. I spoke to Jegs and they do sell a kit for a single cylinder, but it's kind of pricey, and I only need the one ring. Any other thoughts?
