Please Help on CAM Selection
I have a 94 camaro z28. The car is all stock. I put headers - shorty, aftermarket exhuast, smaller pulleys, k&n filterpack, Larger throttle body. The car is a 6 speed with 4:11 gear ratio. I wanted to put a high performance cam in the car something that fits my application and has a loud louping sound to it. My question is what else must I buy when replacing the cam. Is there any part I must replace when I put a cam in. Any recommendations on what cam I should buy for the most horspower.

i think a 230/236 would be great for you, real performer. depending on mileage..... new lifters would be a safe idea.
besides the gasket kit you should have some NSA rockers like comp cams or crane's. 1.6 is a good ratio and also you will need springs good for .600 lift. the stockers will break in 1 min of running. also a new timing chain. not a new set or anything stupid like that. just get a new chain because a 94z chain is getting old fast.... they strech out after 10 years~~~
so cam= rockers, lifters, springs, gaskets, and timing chain.
dont forget the programing need to run the car!!!
i have a 230/236 for sale alon with new lifters with 7900 miles. i had to use comp r's with my new cam!!!
pm me if ya want them

I think it depends on how much lump and eye burning exhaust you can stand. If you dont progress much past what you have now, the 230/236 is a nice cam, but I think youd lik ethe 224/230 better.
