Question Please help! How do I run 94-95 headers on a 97???

I have a 97 WS6 and i want to run 94-95 mac headers on it(for cost reasons). How do I go about this? I will be running no cats just an offroad pipe and o2 sims. I also plan on running a borla catback. Also, if there's a better header for the money please let me know. I will be getting these ceramic coated as well. Thanks for the help!!!

I believe the only differnce would be the y pipe. So you would need to have a custom one made.

I would suggest getting longtubes, since it seems you arent worried about emisions. More money, but more power too. Wait and see if you can up a little more!

i did this to my Z, i got the 94-95 style "single cat" headers. you need an "S-pipe" to connect your 96-97 style cat-back to the y pipe. it shouldn't be much trouble at all. www.thunderracing.com sells them for $72.99 including shipping. hope this helps.

I did this too on my '97...

No differences header wise, but like someone said, the y-pipe is the difference..

What I did was use the hooker y-pipe, and take the plate from the packaging (rectangle with an oval cut in it) and had my muffler guy fab up a pipe and welded it to that, then just re-ran my entire exhaust back to the cutout(left the rest like was)

I actually found this cheaper than buying the S-pipe from Thunder...because my muffler guy hooks me up on the price

I'm installing my mac's now. Got em at ls1speed.com for 650 coated, with the off-road pipe and arp bolts and the y-pipe, 94-95 style. You also need the s-pipe as mentioned above. If it where me I would save the dough for the simms and get the pcm done at pcmforless for 175 shipped(last time mine was done), you can have bunch of other stuff done at the same time, well worth the money IMO.

when i installed headers i also ordered 94-95 borla catback, and i ordered a s pipe. the 94-95 catback came with an S pipe. so i have an brand new extra s pipe laying around. if anyone needs this i will sale it much cheaper than thunderracing. shoot me an email. i am in the middle of the catback install now. i also think you may have to change over to the 94-95 style catalytic converter hanger. i am not sure yet i will let you all know.
