Please Help problems with 94 lt1

well my car has recently started having problems... when im driving if im cruising in any gear at low rpms then give it gas ( not stomp on it but give some gas ) it stutters bad and kinda shakes i can feel it in the shifter... but i think its an engine problem because it doesnt idle quite right its just a little choppy. this happened all at once after a burnout. also if the car is off for a while it seems much better then after warming up a little it starts doing it again...

i have found a small coolant leak but dont think its the problem I DID NOT overheat ever in the couple months Ive owned it.

car is a 94 Z28 with t-56 179,000 miles

Thanks for any help

You may have an optispark unit that is on it's way out...

A better section to post a question like this is in LT1 based engine tech.
Most people that hang out here are ones that aren't dealing with stock engine problems... more like quantum mechanics and fuel alchemy

ive been researching... and im thinking its my optispark... my coolant leak was right above it and probly got it wet and that is what screws them up if my research is correct. first im going to check my MAF And all spark plug wires

Welcome to the drones of the Opti..

Also on a side note if you are feeling shudders in your shifter after a burnout check your tranny mount. They fail often enough and are easy to replace. If you feel your shifter moving up and down its a sure bet that its messed up.

thanks for the help unfortunatley i had that happen b4 so i already thought of it and checked it, very true though that was my first thought my 87 ripped one in half and the tranny was moving up like 5 inches when taking off. LOL but this isnt moving nearly as much just a little shaking

so today i started trying to check plug wires and tearing **** apart to fix this small coolant leak .... but it keeps raining and forcing me inside.

another question is, how will i know if i need the whole opti or just cap and roter kit??? probly get some new wires too while I got it apart

yes just replace the whole opti.... typically the optical part is the thing that causes the trouble.
