Please tell me about a 95 trans am?
Ok bare with me...i am new to this.
I have a 94 3.4v6 camaro. I am buying a 95 trans am. I have drivin the TA a little and of course there is a difference in speed.
My questions are:
What mustangs will this TA be able to keep up with or beat if using the same driver.
Is this a good engine the LT1.......how much better is the LS1? How much faster is the LS1.
Is there any performance differences between a 95 z28 and a 95 TA?
Will a gran national beat me if using the same driver?
Also....is this a good price......95 Trans am, 30000 miles, leather, auto, cd, air, rear defrost, t-tops, basically every available option, also mint shape for the outside body.......$10000.
thanks for taking the time to answer any of my questions.

really the only mustangs that can beat you are the most of the cobras and the new terminator edition. the lt1 is a fun car drive, makes tons of low end torque. overall the motor is good except for the optispark. lt1=about 14 second 1/4 mile, ls1= 13-13.5 1/4 mile. also i dont think there is a diff between the ta and z28's. not sure about the price as im in canada. bottom line you will be happy with the car.

the other guy summed up the stang question pretty good. It really depends on how hoped up the stang is, they are easy and cheap to build up, but they still cant corner. I would watch out for some of the Roush's and SVT Cobras, Saleens and of course the Steada Corbra R, but i doubt you'll see one. Even the odler boxy 5.0s can be leathal againest a stock 95 trans am depending on the work.
As far as the grand national, unless it has been well preserved or rebuilt, it may be able to hang with you for a while, but it wont take in the end.
As for the LT1 vs the LS1, you will hear all sorts of different opinions on this, yeah the LS1 puts out more power, I honestly like the LT1 better, it takes a hell of a lot more abuse.
And that 10 grand for the 95' with 30,000 miles, thats a pretty good deal. But prices vary by region.

I have a 95 t/a and I love it. I think the only slight difference from the z's and the t/a's are I think the z's weigh a little less. As for beating mustangs, I had only lost to one mustang and it was pretty beefed. I had all bolt ons and stock manifolds running through full exhaust and I ran a 13.35 with my Lt1. Last, about the Ls1 to Lt1 comparison, a Lt1 with boltons will pull hard on an Ls1 until about 60 mph. Then the Ls1 uses the xtra horses to pull back and maybe beat you. I was beating brand new ram airs with my car before my recent Lt4 hotcam setup.
