What a waste, why develop something that is already on the market? Hedman makes a 1 3/4-1 7/8 stepped header already, besides stepped headers are best developed per application.
We need a straight 1 7/8 header for high HP applications that will clear the a/c box and work with factory steering. GOnna spend R&D money, R&D something thats not out there.

I agree, just do the 1 7/8" header, don't mess w/ the steps, would probably be cheaper to make too and make more power. I would be interested and willing to put a down payment on a set of 1 7/8" ceramic coated long tubes. Not worth upgrading my 1 3/4" just for the step.
Why the heck stainless? You still have to coat it if you want low underhood temperatures and plugwires to survive? I don't get it. Follow the lead of the other header manufacturers, make a header in mild steel and offer a ceramic coated option and just make it 1 7/8" and they will sell like hotcakes. Oh yeah, make them fit without a manual rack or power steering modifications.

If you need the step to get the header bolt clearance, then go for it, but other than that I would rather see the 1 7/8 headers NOT stepped.

We need 1 7/8" ALL THE WAY if it can fit. I do think stainless is a great idea. Tell them to tuck them up under the car as close as possible, these cars are low. Maybe get them to make it bolt up to an already existing y-pipe like the Hooker/Jethot.

Why not offer them in stainless and in regular coated steel? Don't get me wrong, stainless is nice since it will never rust, but $1000+ for a set of headers is kinda steep.
