Poping out of reverse T-56

Poping out of reverse T-56
Ok I push the clutch in and I put it in reverse, let go of the clutch and the damn thing just pops out of gear and makes grinding noises or just makes the grinding sound.
What do you think it is, I did a search and found some of you guys had this problem before so what did you do to get it going? I have the rear cover off and the shift fork and pads look good (not bent) and the gear and synchro don't look to beat up, what else should I be looking at?
In my area the tranny shops have no clue on how to rebuild a t-56 tranny so I have to do it on my own. I've downloaded the t-56 service manual online so I have that to go by, what other books or videos should I get. I read that the 94 helm manual has a good section on the t-56 and also tremec has a fix it guide.

I had the roll pin that held my reverse shift fork onto the shaft pop out. It was sitting against the magnet. I had to tear my tranny apart after I lost reverse completely, and found that to be the problem. Yours might be compressed/loose.

mine does exactly same thing..i found a trick to get it to stop poping out.....whenever i want to back out, i put it in 3rd first, then put it in reverse..then i slip the clutch just tinny bit while holdin the brake, once i hear a little pop, i am fine to go..if i dont hear the pop, i put it back in first get it rollin just a tiny bit, and then back into reverse and try to get it to make a POP sound, once i hear "pop" i have no problmes with it poping out while backing out

Well after taking it apart and having a good look I think the reverse synchronizer sleeve might be worn out, I'll just use the trick I learned on this sight and flip it around and use the other good side. Now the teeth on the reverse gear where the reverse sleeve slides into seem to be not to bad but I'am thinking I should replace it, I like to know where is a good place to get parts for it and how much you think it would be for the reverse gear?
