porting stock lt-1 heads

a 96 impalla ss came into my hot rod/ race car shop with a broken crank.i got him a new motor from a fellow racer, and claimed his old heads( iron) and intake for use on my 95z.i want to start porting the intake and heads soon, but does anyone have any pics and advice cuz im a master at hitting water jackets.ive done some porting before on dart heads, and i have access to a flow bench.i was thinking about sticking with the stock valve size and just getting a three angle valve job and new valves with under cut stems.any words of wisdom ? pics would be great also!

When you hit water you are removing way too much material. I do a lot of LT1
heads, they respond well with minimal grinding. With the stock valves these
heads work great with 175 - 180 cc intake ports.

On the intake side, concentrate on optimizing the push rod pinch, narrow down
the guides and widen the approach to the valve in the bowl area. Spend most
of your time 1/2" before and after the valve seat.

On the exhaust side widen the port in the turn and narrow the guides.

I'll try to find more pictures.
