Possibility of individual throttle bodies?
In the near future I will be swapping an lt1 into a 944 and was wondering what the possibilities of ITB where.I come from a vw background so ive seen plenty of itb's on 4 cylinders and was wondering if it is at all possible to run them on the lt1. I'm not trying to build a monster engine by any means I just want the wow factor of the itb's.

Re: Possibility of individual throttle bodies?
With enough fab'ing anything is possible.
Does that mean that it would be worth it to invest the time and money when the aftermarket t/b's are plenty good enough.
Things to consider are going to be managing two IAC (idle air controlers) and two TPS (throttle position sensors), not to mention two throttle cables. I highly doubt you'll ever get cruise control and TCS to work either.
So, my opinion is that there are other places to modify to get the "wow" factor.

Re: Possibility of individual throttle bodies?
I assume you're talking about 1 TB per cylinder?
In which case I would say PITA, the LT1 does not use an electronic throttle. That would be quite a bit of money. You'd have to fab a manifold, TBs, and a monster linkage. You might have an easier time converting the LT1 to dohc... Then you could put the water pump on one side, and the opti on the other
I know Maserati makes V8s w/ ITB, but that's pretty high end.

If anyone could help you, it would be Kinsler. They already make a manifold for the LS1/C5-R with 8 individual butterflies. Could probably work up something using their Gen 1 SBC parts.
