Is it possible to get drivers side header in w/o removing the oil filter?

Yes, I made sure I was turning it the right way LOL.
For the record, 1am I got the filter off.. I tried the screwdriver, that broke. i then tried the channels jaws, those turned it a tiny bit until the filter totally calapsed and I couldnt get a good angle on it. Then after fooling with that for the longest time I tried a longer screwdriver and punchinig a hole closer to the base. I got the hole but the screwdriver just bent. After that I showed a metal steak through it (The ones they use to punch in concrete for a tent), that didnt work, just made the hole unusable. After that, the bottom half of my filter was destroyed. Close to the very base, I punched a hole with a screwdriver, then I made a bigger hole with a rod, then I stuck a 3' 3/8 extension in it and it held up long enough to make 1 full rotation of grueling force to get this thing to where it really should be. Then it came off from there.

Check to be sure you are turning it the right way. I have seen it happen to people. You get upside down under the car and things get mixed up.

Make sure you don't tighten the $h*t out of the new filter. Also make sure you put some fresh oil around the seal before you put the new one on. I hand tighten mine until I can't turn it anymore then I give it a touch more with the oil wrench. Just a touch.
Good Luck. It sure sounded eventfull. I'm sure we all have been there... I know I have.

I can't imagine a filter having been on that tight. Mine always go on by hand and I almost need a wrench to get it off, but am able get it off by hand.
