Post pics of your LTCC setup

I'm looking for some idea on how to mount the coils. I can't mount them on the valve covers.

Re: Post pics of your LTCC setup

If you have ram air couldnt you mount the coils in the space where the factory air box goes, or if you have relocated the battery to the rear that spot might be good enough. Or if you have done both, just divide the coils up . I know that the wires might be a tad bit long, but hey just a thought.

Thanx for the ideas guys. I was leary of mounting them under the cowl above the headers for fear of damage due to heat. Is this an issue at all?

There are lots of people on LS1tech.com who have done this and so far nobody's complained.

I would think that not having them in direct contact with a hot engine and having an airgap between them and the source of the heat could only help.

Not an LTCC, but it works for the coils.

Fred: Were you able to use stock LT1 wires or did you have to get custom ones? Any problems with puddles?

Re: Post pics of your LTCC setup

The wires are a set of MSD 8.5's with the correct ends for the LS1 coils. Its not a stock set.

I've driven in the pouring rain with no problems.

The biggest drawback to that location is on a blower setup. If the belt comes off, it takes out the coil wires. Happened to a buddy of mine running the same setup.

Are the LT1 wires incompatible with LS1 coils? I have mine run with LT1 wires without much problems, although I do experience missing from time to time for which I can't figure out why.

Why don't you just mount them on your MBA covers? I have mine mounted like that. I can email you some pics if you would like. It does get a little tight around the FPR though, but no real problem as long as you make it neat and take your time placing everything. Let me know....John

Not really sold on LTCC yet, still trying to resolve "too many high res pulses" with my new build, pretty close to ditching the setup and going with an entirely different setup.
