Potential engine idea...look over it please
So i've been deliberating on what i want to do with the camaro. I've come across several options on what i could do. it's a budget minded motor but i do want quality.
i've come across cook's performance engines and their LT1 383 CPE street engine. I figured i would put the LE1 package on the car to keep it somewhat driveable. i do have a 2800 stall in the car, so the cam isnt THAT huge of a deal, it can handle a bit of a chopy lope
the only concern i have is nitrous use on the hypereutectic pistons in the bottom end. i would only be using a 125 shot on it, maybe up to a 150. i already have a walbro 255 in the tank, but i would upgrade to larger injectors with the build, and hand match port the intake to the heads and maybe get the throttle body ported to help as well.
would the hyperreutectic pistons (speed pro) hold up to the 125-150 shot on the motor, or should i hold out for more money and get the forged pistons. I'm not looking to set any records with this car, just a fun street car, a little lope, and a decent shot of nitrous for the track. trying not to turn this car into a full blown hotrod.
i've been running the 125 shot on the stock motor for nearly 3 years now, sometimes at the track twice a month for 6 months straight and i think i've starting to wear the rings and head gaskets out. so it's almost time for a new motor.

i've heard so many good things about the LE1 package. and i dont think i need as much as the LE2. i've been watching videos of the LE1 setup on stock bottom ends and it seems to be the idle i want. my buddy used to have an LT1 TA with a cc306 in it. it was a 6 speed car, and in my opinion, it was too much cam for me to use every day. a couple of my other buddies had LT1 TA's with the HOTCAM and it seemed more like what i'm looking for.
the more i research hyper pistons, the more i think they fit what i want out of this motor.

without getting too technical here the le2 heads will flow better across the board not just peak thus increasing power and complimenting your small cam fast car. if you can afford them they are a much better option
as for the cam after reading what you think of the 306 the le1 will prolly be your best bet, but really you should call lloyd and talk to him. he is a very nice guy and will gladly take the time to explain things to you

I agree as well. Bigger heads won't make it any less drivable, I have ported heads (comparable to LE2) on my stock cam w/1.7RR and stock 155k bottom end and it didn't change the drivability, other than having much more hp/tq than before, and slightly better mileage. Especially with you having a 383, it will needs a lot more air than a 350, so I would go with the full LE2 package. The extra cubes of the 383 will make the LE2 cam more drivable than it would be in a 350, it will probably act like a LE1 in a 350 does.

Yeah talk with Lloyd about it. A LE2 head is my favorite choice, better springs and valves, kinda like adding forged pistons to a setup over hyper pistons. LE1 heads will work though if you have to fit it in a budget.
For a 383 we can do a mild cam for you to work with the small stall. That's not going to be a problem at all. There is a large assortment of cams that fit any combination from Lloyd.
I personally wouldn't put the hypers in there, a set of Mahle Pro Packs would be a better idea especially if you are going to use N2O. It's just not worth the risk and it's not cheap to fix if you do have a issue.

i really appreciate the advice guys.
might retool the budget to make a 355 with forged pistons and an LE2 instead of the 383 with hypers and LE1.
after watching all the videos online of LE2's, i'm really starting to love the lope of it again
